5. Woody Tiger is on the Way!

Our principal says good-bye to Woody.

Woody sees his travel box for the first time.
Time to go Woody.

Woody Tiger is on his way to you.  He has never been away from home before so he is a little worried.  But we know that you will take good care of him.  We are still looking for Tom and will let you know when he gets here.

Hello from Wheeling, WV

Hello, we loved seeing your picture and are very excited about writing to you this year.  We come from a small town called Wheeling.  It is located in a state called West Virginia.  About 28,000 people live here.  We spend a lot of our day studying reading and math.  We also study science, social studies, and writing.  This year we are learning a little Spanish and Chinese. We also go to art, music, gym, and visit the library every week.

1. Hello!

The Teddy Bear Project
to foster tolerance and understanding of cultures other than your own.
This is an international teddy bear exchange using email by classes in
USA and Poland.

The students write the diary messages as if they are the visiting bear describing its experiences in the new culture. The classes send each other a Teddy Bear or other soft toy by airmail through the normal postal system. The bear sends home diary messages by email at least once a week. This project provides opportunities for authentic writing by providing the students with a real audience.

Ready, steady, go...
